Homemade Chocolate Pudding

Never made from-scratch pudding before so decided to give it a whirl.  This recipe got mixed reviews here - from "okay" to "really good!"  (My opinion was among the "really good" reviews.)  It's included here in case you'd like to conduct your own taste-test.

Homemade Chocolate Pudding

3 tabl. cornstarch
1/4 C. sugar
2 1/2 C. milk
1 C. semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 tabl. margarine
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix cornstarch and sugar in a medium saucepan.  Slowly pour in 1/2 C. milk, whisking until smooth.  Then whisk in remainder of milk.  Turn on heat to medium and whisk mixture until thickened, 4 to 5 minutes.  Remove from heat and add chocolate chips, margarine and vanilla.  Whisk until smooth.  Divide pudding into small dishes (I got 5 servings but depending on size of dish, you'll get more or less, of course.)  Serve warm or press plastic wrap onto surface of each pudding and chill.
