Garlic Toast

Last night we had Garlic Toast with our Ham & Pea Soup - the toast was a new recipe I adapted slightly from a recent issue of Taste of Home.  Will definitely be making that again.  Also, if you click back on the Ham & Pea Soup recipe, make a note that you can substitute a can of cream of chicken for the cream of celery soup.  In fact, I think I like it even better -

Garlic Toast

1 large or 2 smaller loaves of French bread
1/2 C. butter, melted
1/4 C. Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. dried oregano

Slice bread lengthwise; place, cut side up, on a large baking sheet.  Combine remainder of ingredients in a small bowl.  Brush or spoon onto cut bread.  Broil on high for several minutes until golden brown and lightly toasted.
