Dixie Crumb Cake

Just E. and me for breakfast this morning. We tried a new crumb cake recipe from my old Society of Farm Women of Pennsylvania Cookbook. Delicious -

Mix the following together, reserving 1/2 C. for crumbs:
1 C. sugar
2 C. flour
1/2 C. butter
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 C. cloves

Add the following to the remaining crumbs:
2 tabl. molasses
1 C. sour milk (1 tabl. vinegar mixed into approx. 1 C. milk)
1 tsp. baking soda stirred into milk
1 egg

Pour into 8x8 pan. Sprinkle with reserved 1/2 C. of crumbs. Bake at 390 for 30-35 minutes.
