Bouquet Water Recipe

A friend recently blessed me with a lovely little bouquet of zinnias and celosia from her cutting garden.  Along with the gift, she included a quart of bouquet water - a little mixture that she blends to pour into her vases and keep her bouquets looking fresher and lasting longer.  There must be something to it - after 4 days, the blooms look as fresh as the day she gave them to me.

Bouquet Water

1 qt. water
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. bleach
1/2 tsp. lemon juice

Mix and store in a marked container.
