After being inspired by an idea from Pinterest, Eli crafted this twig candle holder when we were in the mountains. He gathered a few thin twigs, cut them a little longer than a votive candle holder, and glued them to the sides. One side was left free of twigs, so there'd be room to reach in and light it. His candle holder was added to the cabin's kitchen windowsill, along with a vignette of a variety of nature items, and fits right in.
(POSTSCRIPT: A friend mentioned the possible flame factor in regard to the twigs being so close to it - good point. We didn't light the candle to see how that scenario played out - maybe it's best for just decorative purposes!)
