Thank You, LORD . . .

.) for our drive through the city after dark and all the interesting sights provided along the way in the shop windows and in the architecture of the old buildings
.) for the warm and delicious piece of pecan pie I had at Cracker Barrel after our shopping excursion last night
.) for the encouraging time that Candy and I had during Study & Reflection yesterday afternoon
.) for a morning of baking - lemon poppyseed bread for S & R, banana bars for tonight's fall party at our friends' farm, chocolate chunk cookies for the boys to share with their cousins
.) for the anticipation of our neighbor's fried chicken & potluck gathering next Sunday
.) for the beauty of Orion outside the bathroom window
.) that Your love fills the earth (Psalm 33:5)
.) for the reminder of the incredible power of the tongue - for good, for evil (James 2)
.) for the reminder that a gentle answer will calm a person's anger, but an unkind answer will cause more anger (Proverbs 15:1)

(The photos are from Eli's two recent plays with Homeschool Drama Camp.  In the top left photo he played Benaiah, a Christian who gives his life to help save Paul the Apostle, which included a very dramatic dying scene!  The bottom right photo is of Ashpenaz - prince of the Babylonian eunuchs.  His beautiful solo made my mother's heart proud.  Eli was chosen, along with a small group of other students, to travel with the Academy next summer to perform in churches along the East Coast.  Though he said he's not ready for that, we're excited that he received such an honor! Thank You, LORD, for his gifts - help him to use them well for Your work.)
