God's Gold

I stood for a few minutes yesterday afternoon watching liquid gold pour from the combine's snout into the waiting truck.  Beautiful.  As I walked back to the house, my eyes kept catching hints of golden hues everywhere I looked.  In the drying, rustling stalks of corn.  In the changing leaves along the creek.  In the pumpkins lined up on the bench.  In the egg basket of gourds on the porch.  In the Asian pear trees, dripping with fruit.

The color seems quite appropriate for this time of year.  Gold.  For it makes me think of one, very fitting word . . .

Rich.

Gold always turns my mind to our wonderful Heavenly Father who has streets of gold and mansions of gold. Someday I plan to wear a crown of gold placed on my undeserving head by Jesus who gave His life for us. I love how your words describe what you see. It was beautiful. Thank you
