Jackie Evancho is a little girl (age 11 when she did this concert) who’s got
the voice of a 30-year-old. In
fact, it’s hard to believe that that
voice comes out of that body!
The Dream With Me concert encompasses a variety of music –
from opera to a Broadway piece to The
Lord’s Prayer. Jackie’s voice
is simply stunning in them all, and it was a delight watching her perform. It’s mentioned on an interview in the
bonus feature section that she has a natural understanding of music that goes
far beyond her years. She has been
called a child prodigy.
Prodigy or not, Jackie Evancho has been given an amazing
gift from the Lord. Listening to
her sing brought tears of wonder to my eyes in praise to God for the incredible
beauty He has created in music.
And the thought occurred to me: if one human can sing like that, imagine
how Home will sound when the angels of Heaven and our glorified voices will
sing in praise to the Lord? God
has given yet another shadow of Home – and this time, through a beautiful
little girl with an incredible gift.
