Timothy
Timothy is one of four new calves. His front leg muscles were weak, so The Farmer made him some "braces." He's walking better, and we hope he'll soon be romping around with the calves.
A new blog - yeah! How fun to finally see your picture after reading and enjoying your newsletter for so long. Now I can keep up with life on your farm much more often.
Hi Julie, it's nice to put a face with the name. I also recently started a blog on blogspot. I'd love to add your site to mine. Here's my address stroupfamilymemories.blogspot.com. Enjoy. Linda Stroup
Hi Julie! Welcome to the blog world. I am at homeschoolblogger so stop by sometime! Blogging really is fun and I have learned so much, made new GREAT friends, been inspired and motivated- not to mention documented much more of our day-to-day (Since I no longer have time to scrapbook!) I'll check back often! Happy Spring! SchoolinRHome (I sent you an e-mail as well to let you know who I am as I stay annonymous online- but I am related- through marriage to Suzie!)
To strengthen muscles in weak newborns - I would suggest using a dose of BoSe. It is selinium. If muscles you see are weakened - then it is probable that muscles you don't see - like the heart - could also be weak.
Mnay areas of the country (and hence feeds) are selinium deficient - and it is very possible that area vets and extension offices are unaware of that.
It may not be the case for you - and this may not be the problem for your calf - but it is something I have often seen and few officals really understand. Blessings, Patti
