Today's post contains a few birthday gift ideas which come from some of my very creative friends:
The first photo is of a vintage-looking lemonade dispenser. My friend, Suzie, brought one of these to a recent picnic filled with lemonade, and I loved the look of it. So, she found a similar one at a discount store, filled it with lemons, lemon juice, her lemonade recipe, and napkins on which is printed, "If life gives you lemons, make lemonade." A perfect summer birthday gift!
The next photo is of a gift basket which my sister, Jenna, is known for. She delights in adding things throughout the year as she finds them, and her baskets always have a theme. This one had several - the color orange, tea, and birds. In case you can't see everything, the basket contains: single packs of Harney's Tropical Green Tea and Earl Grey Supreme, a box of Pomegranate Green Tea, a fascinating book on tea history called For All the Tea in China: How England Stole the World's Favorite Drink and Changed History by Sarah Rose, a cardstock birdcage wound with orange rick-rack and ribbons, a little owl trivet, and gorgeous rooster napkins. And the gifts were nestled in a little egg basket that she planned for me to use to collect our daily eggs. Yet another successful gift basket, J.!
And last but not least was from my friend, Candy - a "tea party to go" wrapped in a gorgeous piece of lacy fabric and topped with a little piece of sunshine. Inside was a plastic container of scones from our favorite tea bakery - apricot & almond and a glazed orange. On top of the box she had taped three bags of looseleaf tea from the shop - Decaf English Breakfast, Chocolate Supreme, and one called Honeybush Nut Crunch. And then, on top of all that, was a gift card to the said tea house for future goodies! The package didn't stay wrapped long before we brewed up the tea and dove into the scones. (She even included two little cups of Devonshire cream.) I highly recommend a tea party in a box. . .

what great ideas, thanks! I need to make a basket for our church bazaar (we raffle them off) and can never think of what to do. Last year I took the "lazy" way out and purchased a rolling Penn State cooler and added soda and chips. I am going to try to tea basket.
Blessings,
Sandy
Glad to help! Have fun putting your basket together . . .
