Kisses From Katie

Kisses From Katie – A Story of Relentless Love and Redemption by Katie Davis with Beth Clark is the remarkable story of a young woman who gives up, not only the American dream, but something far greater – her life. Katie Davis is a woman in love with the people of Uganda and pours out that love every day by serving them in a multitude of ways. Her ability to love the Ugandans comes from her greater love and passion for her Savior, Jesus Christ. This story of Katie’s desire to live out her faith in the depths of Africa is inspiring, challenging, but most of all, convicting. (This is a warning: If you aren’t prepared to be convicted, don’t bother reading the book.) Maybe more than any other book I’ve read, this story has brought my heart to its knees in sorrow and repentance over how little I really love the Lord and love my neighbor. God placed this book in my hands at just the right time to teach me what it really means to love. I pray that all those who read it will be as convicted and, yet encouraged, as I have been to put feet on our faith.

“. . . I want to make some kind of difference, no matter how small, and I want to follow the calling God has placed on my heart. I want to give my life away, to serve the Lord with each breath. At the end of the day, no matter how hard, I want to be right here in Uganda.” – Katie Davis

I have put this book on my wishlist!

It's good to hear from you. I have been reading through your archives the past couple of days and have been inspired by your love for your Saviour, your family and your home.

I am a homeschooling mom of 3 boys, ages 17, 12 and 9, and live in the windy province of Saskatchewan.

I read this book about a month or so ago and you are right. It is a very convicting book. I have been praying that God would help me love Him with ALL my heart, ALL my soul, ALL my mind, and All my strength ~ and to love my neighbor as myself. I am so lacking in this. It is absolutely not easy to be like Jesus in all things. I would highly recommend that everyone read this book.

Glad to see you post again. Hope all is well. Blessings.
