Thank You, LORD . . .

for colorful vignettes that inspire -
6066.) for a quiet, lovely birthday with visiting, a long drive, lots of time to read, cups of tea and our weekly farm walk-over
6067.) that we could share Aunt Helen's birthday cake with her on our mutual birthday
6068.) for the fascinating and stimulating conversation we had with the pastor of the old, old church we visited yesterday
6069.) for the incredibly fun day that Jenna and I had on Saturday at the Mt. Gretna walking tour of cottages - beauty, creativity, ideas, conversation, exercise, mental stimulation, perfect weather, a picnic lunch, and a birthday basket - how You have blessed me in my sister, Abba, overwhelms me
6070.) for the garden's abundance at this time of year - the kitchen counters and tables and porches are literally overflowing with tomatoes and peppers and zucchinis and peaches and melons and green beans and corn and potatoes and onions
6071.) that I can trust that You are working behind-the scenes in a difficult relationship and want things restored rightly even more than I do
6072.) that, One Day, you will defeat our enemy - the roaring lion - utterly and completely (Psalm 60:12)
6073.) for the reminder that hiding sins will not bring success but that confessing and rejecting them brings mercy (Proverbs 28:13)
6074.) that He is, and was, and always will be, the I AM (John 8:58)
6075.) that You saw their suffering and rescued them time and again (II Kings 14:26-27) - that gives me hope, Father, for the times I go astray

I usually don't ask, but if you get a chance, could you say a little prayer for me? I am having a (major-cancer?) health crisis and could use the uplifting.

Blessing,
Sandy

Thank you for the birthday wishes, Sandy, and I consider it a privilege to pray for you. Every afternoon I write out my prayers in my prayer journal. I thought, perhaps, it might be an encouragement to share my prayer for you:

Abba,
I can't begin to know what You're doing in the life of this sister, but You do. This isn't a surprise to You, and it's all part of Your plan to make Sandy more like Your Son and to bring glory to Your name. I pray first of all that You would comfort her heart. Bring to Sandy's mind all the verses from the Word that she knows, that she's heard that speak of Your care and love for her. Remind her that Your Word says that You will never leave her or forsake her. That You know the plans You have for her. That she is more precious than the sparrows for Whom You so lovingly provide. Remind Sandy that all things that touch our lives are allowed or orchestrated by You, and that all things are for a purpose, for our ultimate good, for the praise of Your name. That all things, filtered through Your hands, provide opportunity to grow her, strengthen her, deepen her faith and trust in You. Help Sandy to rest in Your love, Your peace and Your presence. And help her to remember that anything that drives us to You and reminds us of our continual need for a Savior is a good thing . . . even when it's a hard thing. Amen and amen -

Please keep me updated and let me know what He teaches You of Himself in this. He is faithful, Sandy.
