Conviction Equals Love

Do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? -- Romans 2:4

When we're experiencing conviction of sin, it's not necessarily fun or easy, but it does show us something important - God loves us.  The very fact that God reveals sin in our lives and urges us to repent is evidence of His great love, mercy, and kindness.

Even in the life of a Christian, sin leads to destruction.  Something in our lives will break down as a result of unconfessed sin.  God doesn't want this for His children, and He will "wound" us temporarily, if necessary, in order to restore us.  He won't leave us on a path of destruction without giving us an opportunity to repent.

The best time for us to respond to God is at the moment of conviction.  The longer we delay and the harder we resist His Spirit, the more difficult it becomes to humble ourselves and repent.

If you're experiencing conviction about some sin, it's an evidence that God loves you.  There's no better time to respond than right now.
