Since my Mint Julep patch is going crazy, I decided to try another mint recipe. The combination of grape juice and mint intrigued me - definitely tasty.
1/2 C. sugar (NOTE: The original recipe calls for 1 C. of sugar which I cut in half. After tasting it, I don't think you need any extra sugar in it at all. The grape juice and ginger ale have the sweetness covered. Next time I'll just bring the water to a boil to steep the mint with the lemon juice.)
1 1/2 C. water
1 C. mint leaves
1 C. lemon juice
2 C. grape juice
12 oz. ginger ale
Cook combined sugar and water for 5 minutes. Cool slightly and pour over mint leaves. Add lemon juice. Cover and let steep for 1 hour. Strain. Add grape juice. Just before serving add chilled ginger ale.

Mmm; that sounds refreshing! I love your pitcher; is it glass?
Sandy
Sandy,
Yes,the vintage pitcher is glass. I found it at a stuff-a-bag-for-$1 church rummage sale. With all the other stuff I stuffed in that bag, the pitcher probably cost me less than a dime!
Blessings on your day -
