Chocolate Chocolate Layered Cookie Mix

I made up a few jars of this mix last Christmas for gifts, finding 2 qt. jars at various thrift stores.
They're easy to make up, look pretty, and are convenient because the recipients can save them to make after the holidays when the Christmas goodies are all gone.

1 - 2 qt. jar
2 3/4 C. flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 C. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/4 C. packed light brown sugar
3/4 C. granulated sugar
1/2 - 1 C. M&Ms (depending on size of jar)
1/2 - 1 C. semisweet chocolate chips (depending on size of jar)
1/2 - 1 C. white chocolate chips (depending on size of jar)

In a medium bowl, combine 1 3/4 C. of the flour, the baking powder, baking soda and salt.  In a small bowl, blend cocoa and remaining1 C. flour.  Begin layering by spooning half the flour-cocoa mixture into jar.  (Jiggle jar gently after each layer is added.)  Spoon half the plain flour mixture over cocoa layer.  Repeat.  Top with brown sugar layer (pack down) and granulated sugar layer, compacting each.  Spoon M&Ms over sugar.  Toss together both kinds of chips in a small bowl and add to jar.

Attach a note with baking instructions:  In a large bowl, combine 1 C. (2 sticks) cooled, melted unsalted butter with 3 eggs, 1/3 C. milk, and 2 tsp. vanilla.  Stir in contents of jar just until mixed.  Drop dough by heaping tabl. onto baking sheets.  Bake at 350 for 13 minutes or until firm.  Cool on sheet on wire rack for 1 minute.  Remove directly to rack and cool completely.
