A blueberry cobbler candle glowing during our afternoon meal | . |
Last year we were guests at our church's annual Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? event. This year the tables were turned and we did the hosting. I was told by the event organizer that we'd have 7 guests coming. The boys immediately pulled out the church directory and tried figuring out the various combinations of which families we might have! My job was to plan a main dish, a veggie and drinks. The guests were to bring a salad, rolls and dessert. You'll find the delicious menu below - the food provided blending perfectly together. The event was a success in more ways than the menu: Two little boys were here and perfectly content to be entertained by my boys with croquet on the back lawn. The remainder of our guests was comprised of widows and young moms who happily helped me with the dishes and then sat down for a good chat. (This being the first time that I ever used all 6 leaves in our big farm table!) What a lovely and surprising way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
