Though I don't care for the summer's heat, I love the summer's bounty - especially when the harvest is piled up all over my kitchen counters.
Lots of good stuff flowing from the garden to the kitchen this week:
* A batch of Raspberry Pudding
* A breakfast loaf of Blueberry Orange Bread
* Two Raspberry Pies with Whipped Cream that we've been eating as a bedtime snack
* And a double recipe of Broccoli & Cauliflower Salad which you'll find below
The refrigerator is groaning . . .
Broccoli & Cauliflower Salad
Combine the following:
1 lb. fresh cauliflower, cleaned and cut into small pieces
1 lb. fresh broccoli, cleaned and cut into small pieces
1/2 lb. bacon, cooked and chopped
2 C. cheddar cheese
1/2 red onion, chopped (or a white onion in a pinch)
For the dressing, mix the following and add to the first mixture:
1/2 C. sugar
1 C. mayo
2 tabl. cider vinegar (can substitute white vinegar)
It's best if you make this ahead and allow to marinate overnight.

Sounds like you're busy! My garden is not that far along here in SK.
Will you have a small bowl of leftovers till Friday evening? The raspberry pie was delicious!
