"God has confidence in our ability to teach our own children. His desire is not for us to give them all the best that money could buy. His desire is for us to give them contact with Him through His Word and direct contact with our own heart through deep home relationships! He wants for us to give OURSELVES . . . Our FAITH, Our LOVE, Our NURTURE, and Our WISDOM!"

R. C. Sproul, Jr. puts it this way in his wonderful book "When You Rise Up", "I'm not arguing that it's a bad thing for children to be smart. Rather, I am suggesting that the issue of education is always the heart. Changed hearts is the goal, the function, the very purpose of education. Our goal is not multigenerational personal peace and affluence. Neither are we simply trying to raise clean-cut children...what we want is the changed heart....we teach our children that they might know God and serve Him."
Chris Klicka makes similar statements in "The Heart of HOmeschooling."
It really is all about discipling our children, isn't it? Giving of ourselves so they might know Jesus.
